Recombinant Mouse CXCL12/SDF-1 alpha Protein Summary

Description
A single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 68 amino acids corresponding to CXCL12/SDF-1 alpha Source: E. coli

Uniprot ID: P40224

Amino Acid Sequence: KPVSLSYRCP CRFFESHIAR ANVKHLKILN TPNCALQIVA RLKNNNRQVC IDPKLKWIQE YLEKALNK

This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2-8 degrees C, but should be kept at -20 degrees C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is most stable at -20 to -80 degrees C, and can be stored for one week at 2-8 degrees C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20 degrees C to -80 degrees C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Details of Functionality
CXCL1 Protein is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The biological activity determined by a chemotaxis bioassay using human peripheral blood monocytes is in a concentration range of 50-100 ng/ml.

Background

CXCL12 also known as SDF-1 is belonging to the CXC chemokine family. Murine CXCL12 is expressed as two isoforms that differ only in the C-terminal tail. Both SDF-1 isoforms undergo proteolytic processing of the first two N-terminal amino acids. Contrast to SDF-1beta, SDF-1alpha is shorter by four amino acids at the C-terminal tail. On the cell surface, the receptor for this chemokine is CXCR4 and syndecan4. CXCL12 is strongly chemotactic for T-lymphocytes, monocytes, but not neutrophils. SDF- 1 is highly conserved between species, murine CXCL12alpha shares approximately 93 % amino acid sequence identity with human CXCL12alpha.
