Background

NALP proteins are cytoplasmic proteins that form a subfamily within the larger CATERPILLER family and are thought to play a crucial role in cell proliferation and reproduction. Like all other NALP family members, NALP12, also known as Monarch-1, has a C-terminal leucine-rich repeat (LRR) region, an N-terminal Pyrin domain (PYD) followed by a NACHT domain, and a NACHT-associated domain. NALP12 is thought to act as an attenuating factor of inflammation by suppressing inflammatory responses such as NF-kappaB activation by TLR-signaling molecules MyD88, IRAK-1, TRAF6 and RIPK1 in activated monocytes. Recent evidence suggests that mutations in NALP12 result in hereditary periodic fever syndromes.

FAQs for NALP12 Antibody (NBP1-76293). (Showing 1 - 1 of 1 FAQ).

  1. Actually i'm testing the mouse monoclonal anti-hNLRP12, but as in the image that you show for the rabbit policlonal anti-hNLRP12, i just see a band in the 95 kDa region, so i would like to know why the antibody doesn't recognize a band at aprox 120 kDa, do you know about a postranscriptional modification of this protein??
    • There are several different characterized isoform of NALP12. Please visit the following website to learn more, https://www.uniprot.org/uniprotkb/P59046/entry. The band that you see in our western blot reflects the NALP12 isoform expressed in the tissue probed, and it may vary between different tissues and species.
