Specificity	Detects human ICAM‑3/CD50 in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In Western blots, approximately 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) ICAM-1 is observed and less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse (rm) ICAM-1, recombinant rat ICAM-1, rhICAM-2, rhVCAM-1, and rmVCAM-1 is observed.

Background

Intercellular Adhesion Molecule‑3 (ICAM‑3, CD50), a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, binds the leukocyte integrins LFA‑1 (CD11a/CD18) and alpha _d/ beta ₂. ICAM‑3 is expressed on leukocytes and epidermal Langerhans cells. It may play an important role in T cell stimulation by Langerhans cells. ICAM‑3 has not been identified in the mouse.
