In Western Blot, a band is seen at ~55 kDa. In ICC/IF, staining was observed in the endoplasmic reticulum and cytoplasm of HepG2 cells. This antibody is not applicable for IHC-paraffin embedded sections.
Theoretical MW
55 kDa. Disclaimer note: The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.
Reviewed Applications

Anabolic signals such as glucose, insulin etc. enhance the transcription of lipogenic enzymes responsible for converting excessive carbohydrates into triglycerides, whereas, DGAT1 (diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 1) is an enzyme that facilitates the conversion of fatty acids to triglycerides. DGAT1 is a multi-pass membrane protein localized in endoplasmic reticulum which catalyzes the terminal and only committed step in triacylglycerol synthesis by using diacylglycerol and fatty acyl CoA as substrates. In contrast to DGAT2, it is not essential for survival, and is involved in VLDL assembly. In liver, DGAT1 plays a key role in esterifying exogenous fatty acids to glycerol, and is important in higher eukaryotes for physiologic processes involving triacylglycerol metabolism such as intestinal fat absorption, lipoprotein assembly, adipose tissue formation, and lactation. Moreover, it acts as the major acyl-CoA retinol acyltransferase (ARAT) in skin tissues, wherein, it maintains the retinoid homeostasis for preventing retinoid toxicity responsible for skin and hair disorders.

FAQs for DGAT1 Antibody (NB110-41487). (Showing 1 - 3 of 3 FAQs).
I would like to order your anti-DGAT1 antibody NB110-41487. The immunogen for this is a synthetic peptide designed within residues 200-300 of human DGAT1. I would like to use it to detect the homolog of DGAT1 in Drosophila. I know that the sequence is proprietary but could you tell me if the sequence is conserved in Drosophila (that means that the peptide is designed within residues 243-288 of human DGAT1) so that it could work in flies.
Unfortunately, the Drosophila and human DGAT1 sequences are too divergent to recommend that NB110-41487 may cross-react with fly.
Do you offer the blocking peptide for NB110-41487?
Unfortunately, we do not offer the blocking peptide for NB110-41487. I apologize for any inconvenience.
Have you ever tested if DGAT1 NB110-41487 work for rat liver tissues?
We have not specifically tested rat liver tissue, but rat is a species covered by our guarantee for this product.
