ALAS2 Antibody

ALAS2 specifies an erythroid-specific mitochondrially located enzyme. The protein catalyzes the first step in the heme biosynthetic pathway. Defects in its gene cause X-linked pyridoxine-responsive sideroblastic anemia.The product of this gene specifies an erythroid-specific mitochondrially located enzyme. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.

J Am Heart Assoc. 2015-08-03 [PMID: 26231844] (WB, Mouse, Human, Rat) Details: ALAS2 antibody was used for WB application on lysates of tissues namely heart, kidney, liver, lung and skeletal muscle from cardiac?specific ALAS2 overexpressing transgenic mice (Figure 1C). WB was also performed on heart lysates of ALAS2 non transgenic and transgenic mice 28 days after myocardial infarction or sham thoracotomy (Figure 5C), and on lysates of H9c2 cells subjected to ALAS2 lentiviral overexpression or si-RNA ALAS1 treatment (Figure 6A). ALAS2 WB was also performed on lysates from non-failing or failing human hearts including the ones with ischemic cardiomyopathy (Figure 7).	WB	Mouse, Human, Rat
