Background
Human PLP (also known as lipophilin) is a 30 kDa protein (277 amino acids) found in myelin of the CNS and PNS. Expressed by oligodendrocytes and Schwann cells, PLP stabilizes myelin by preventing lipid bilayer fusion, and aids in compaction. Different mutations of the human PLP gene product result in two neurological disorders - Pelizaeus-Merzbacher disease and Spastic Paraplegia type 2.
Limitations
This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Primary Antibodies are guaranteed for 1 year from date of receipt.

***Novus Innovators Program - new species or application used on a primary antibody.*** 10ul of pre-isolated extracellular vesicles were incubated with 2ul of PLP1-AF647 antibody, during 20 minutes at room temperature, and analyzed in nanoscale flow cytometer able to resolve particles scattering as little as 100um. Despite some background noise possibly given to antibody aggregation (common in such sensitive application), the antibody performed well to detect PLP1+exosomes.
