Mouse Integrin beta 2 is a transmembrane glycoprotein with an 85 kDa molecular weight (predicted) and is expressed by all leukocytes. The Integrin beta chain can be found in heterodimeric complexes with Integrin subunits alpha D, alpha L (complex also known as LFA‑1), alpha M (Mac-1), or alpha X (CR-4) leading to different Integrin proteins. The extra cellular domains of mouse and canine Integrin beta 2 share an 80.3% aa sequence identity. Integrins are known to participate in cell adhesion as well as cell-surface mediated signalling and leukocyte trafficking.

CD11b/CD18 and Neutrophil-Epithelial Interactions as Targets for Anti-Inflammatory Therapies The beta-2 integrins, a family of four cell surface transmembrane glycoproteins expressed only on leukocytes, include CD11a/CD18, CD11b/CD18, CD11c/CD18, and CD11d/CD18. They consist of a common beta subunit (CD18) and homologous alpha subunits (CD11a... Read full blog post. |
