CXCL7, also known as Thymus Chemokine-1, is a member of the alpha (CXC) subfamily of chemokines. It functions as a chemoattractant for neutrophils, macrophages and T cells that express CXCR2/IL-8 R beta . Rat CXCL7 cDNA encodes a 111 amino acid (aa) precursor protein. Rat CXCL7 shares 72% aa sequence identity with mouse CXCL7.
