Background
Members of the Rab protein family are nontransforming monomeric GTP-binding proteins of the Ras superfamily that contain 4 highly conserved regions involved in GTP binding and hydrolysis. Rabs are prenylated, membrane-bound proteins involved in vesicular fusion and trafficking. The mammalian RAB proteins show striking similarities to the S. cerevisiae YPT1 and SEC4 proteins, Ras-related GTP-binding proteins involved in the regulation of secretion.[supplied by OMIM]

FAQs for Rab2 Antibody (NBP2-20038). (Showing 1 - 1 of 1 FAQ).
-
I have a question regarding the Rab2 antibody (NBP2-20038). The general information on your website states it is a Rab2 antibody, while the more specific information states it is a Rab2A antibody. I noticed that the exact sequence is proprietary, but could you inform me whether this antibody is a panRab2 antibody or whether it is infact isoform specific for Rab2A?
- This antibody was generated using a partial recombinant protein corresponding to RAB2A (http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P61019). Using the exact immunogen sequence, I do see that there is 95% identity to RAB2B (https://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q8WUD1). Further specificity testing has not been performed by our lab, but it appears that it is likely to recognize both of these forms.
