Application Notes
WB: Approx. 22-23 kDa band observed in mouse brain and rat brain lysates (calculated MW of 22.4 kDa band according to mouse NP_032764.1). An additional very strong band of unknown identity was also consistently observed at 50 kDa. This band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

Background

TGF-beta with neurturin and persephin are required for the induction of dopaminergic neurons, whereas GDNF is required for regulating and/or maintaining a differentiated neuronal phenotype. Neurturin-mediated Ret signaling is critical to normal retinal development and function. This study revealed the complexity of postnatal maturation of urogenital innervation, with each organ showing a distinct chronology of innervation and different requirement for neurturin. Transduction-function role for GFR alpha2/neurturin signaling in a specific class of sensory neurons.
