Detects human Galectin-9 in Western blots. In Western blots, approximately 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) Galectin-3 and rhGalectin-4 is observed and less than 2% cross-reactivity with rhGalectin-1, rhGalectin-2, rhGalectin-7, and rhGalectin-8 is observed.

Background
Galectin-9 (also known as Ecalectin and UAT) is a 40 kDa beta -galactoside binding lectin that belongs to a tandem repeat group of Galectins. Activated cells such as T cells, PMNs, astrocytes, fibroblasts and endothelial cells can express Galectin-9, but its release requires select MMPs. Human to mouse, there is 69% aa sequence identity for Galectin-9.
Limitations
This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Primary Antibodies are guaranteed for 1 year from date of receipt.
