Lgr5/GPR49 Antibody - BSA Free

GPR49 is an Orphan-A GPCR with an unknown ligand. G protein-coupled receptor GPR49 has been reported to be expressed in brain, skeletal muscle, placenta, and spinal cord. Recent evidence suggests that GPR49 may be involved in the proliferation of cancer cells. GPR49 is over-expressed in both ovarian and colon primary tumors as well as in basal cell carcinomas. Over-expression of GPR49 increases cell proliferation in a human keratinocyte cell line and conveys the ability to form tumors when transplanted into immunodeficient mice. GPR49 appears to act downstream of HedgeHog (Hh) signaling and may be responsible for increased cell proliferation and tumor formation in several types of cancer.
