Background

RDHE2 belongs to a family of short-chain alcohol dehydrogenases/reductases that catalyze the first and rate-limiting step that generates retinaldehyde from retinol (Matsuzaka et al., 2002 [PubMed 12372410]).[supplied by OMIM]
