Mumps: Disease Bioinformatics

Mumps is a viral infection that causes inflammation of the parotid and other salivary glands, along with headache, fever, and muscle aches. The mumps disease is highly contagious and usually affects children. The incubation period for mumps is 14-18 days, and the duration of symptoms is approximately 10 days. There is no cure for mumps, but children can receive the MMR vaccine at birth.
