Submit your event on Membrane Vesicle Markers to be featured.
Vesicles are intracellular, membrane-enclosed pouches that store and transport substances within cells and digest cellular products. Vesicles are specialized in function depending on the type of cellular material that they transport. Surface markers called SNAREs identify vesicles contents and complementary SNAREs on the target membrane. This triggers fusion of the vesicle and target membrane. Notable forms of SNARE molecules include:v-SNAREs which are incorporated into the membrane of transport vesicles during budding and t-SNAREs that are located on the target membrane.
