Application Notes
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues is enhanced by boiling tissue sections in 10 mM sodium citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.
Theoretical MW
35 kDa. Disclaimer note: The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.

Background
TRANCE/OPGL/RANKL/ODF is a recently identified member of tumor necrosis factor family. TRANCE (TNF-related activation-induced cytokine receptor) or RANKL {receptor activator of NF-kB (RANK) ligand} has been implicated in interactions between T cells and dendritic cells (1-2). RANK ligand (RANKL/TRANCE) binds to RANK on dendritic cells, upregulates the expression of anti-apoptotic protein BcL-XL suggesting a role in dendritic cell survival (2). TRANCE/RANKL is also important in T and B-cell maturation (3). As OPGL/ODF (Osteoprotegerin Ligand/Osteoclast differentiation factor), the same protein can both activate mature osteoclasts and mediate osteoclastogenesis (4). OPGL/TRANCE deficient mice show severe osteoporesis and complete absence of osteoclasts as a result of lack of osteogenesis (3).

Our RANKL antibody with catalogue number NB100-56593 was raised against a bacterially expressed fusion protein containing amino acid residues 1-317 of mouse RANKL
The diverse functions of RANKL/TRANCE/TNFSF11 RANKL (also known as TNF-related activation-induced cytokine), or receptor activator of nuclear factor-?B ligand, was first discovered as a key player in the RANKL/RANK/OPG osteoclast formation pathway. Osteoclasts are large multinucleate cells t... Read full blog post.
