Alternate Names for Recombinant Human RPLP2 His Protein
Background
60S acidic ribosomal protein P2, also known as RPLP2, belongs to the L12P family of ribosomal proteins. This gene encodes a ribosomal phosphoprotein that is a component of the 60S subunit. It is a functional equivalent of the E. coli L7/L12 ribosomal protein. RPLP2 is located in the cytoplasm. It plays an important role in the elongation step of protein synthesis. Unlike most ribosomal proteins, which are basic, the encoded protein is acidic. Recombinant human RPLP2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
