Description
Spinophilin, also known as Neurabin-2 and PPP1R9B, has 815 amino acids and is approximately 89kDa. Spinophilin is a scaffold protein that is involved in many signaling pathways, such as the cAMP pathway, the G-protein coupled receptor signaling pathway, the IL-6 pathway, and the Beta-Adrenergic signaling pathway. Spinophilin may be implicated in the linking of the plasma membrane to the actin cytoskeleton at synaptic junctions. Current research on Spinophilin is being performed in relation to several diseases and disorders including anorexia nervosa, Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia, encephalitis, breast cancer, mood disorder, and glioblastoma. Spinophilin has also been shown to have interactions with CCKAR, CCKBR, ADRA1B, DRD2, and PPP1CA.
