Background
In most tissues of adults, tenascin C is rarely present at significant levels. However, in developing tissues, or tissues experiencing a fast rate of growth, tenascin C is upregulated. This effect is particularly evident when this extracellular matrix glycoprotein is found in abundance in tissues responding to injury or infection. When muscular pH is increased, tenascin C production also increases. Prostate smooth muscle cells produce extra tenascin C when responding to LPS infection. In fibrosis and stenosis, tenascin C expression levels are markedly increased, and the protein seems to function as a mobilizer of immune cells responding to tissue damage and repair. In COPD, likewise, tenascin C expression is increased and is associated with cells attempting to repair damage within the lung. In short, tenascin C can be expected to be found in adult tissues only when associated with tissue damage and repair efforts.

One of our clients is looking for antibodies against tenascin C and fibronectin that could be used for FFPE rat tissues. These antibodies should exclusively recognize tenascin C and fibronectin and do not cross react with each other. Can you inform me if you have these antibodies?
