  1. Calibrators A-F (0, 6.3, 12.5, 25, 50, 100 U/mL), containing C1q antibodies in aserum/buffer matrix (PBS, BSA, detergent, NaN3 0.09%), yellow. Ready to use.
  2. Control positive (1) and negative (2), containing C1q antibodies in a serum/buffermatrix (PBS, BSA, detergent, NaN3 0.09%), yellow, Ready to use. Theconcentration is specified on the certificate of analysis.
  3. Divisible microplate consisting of 12 modules of 8 wells each. Ready to use.
  4. Enzyme conjugate containing anti-human IgG antibodies, HRP labelled; PBS,BSA, detergent, preservative ProClin 300 0.05%, light red. Ready to use.
  5. Sample buffer P, containing PBS, BSA, detergent, preservative NaN3 0.09%,yellow, concentrate (5x).
  6. Stop solution, contains acid. Ready to use.
  7. TMB substrate, containing 3,3’,5,5’-Tetramethylbenzidin, colorless. Ready to use.
  8. Wash solution, containing Tris, detergent, preservative NaN3 0.09%; 50xconcentrated.

Background

C1q encodes a major constituent of the human complement subcomponent C1q. C1q associates with C1r and C1s in order to yield the first component of the serum complement system. Deficiency of C1q has been associated with lupus erythematosus and glomerulonephritis. C1q is composed of 18 polypeptide chains: six A-chains, six B-chains, and six C-chains. Each chain contains a collagen-like region located near the N terminus and a C-terminal globular region. The A-, B-, and C-chains are arranged in the order A-C-B on chromosome 1. This gene encodes the A-chain polypeptide of human complement subcomponent C1q.
