Hypervitaminosis is often due to excess ingestion of one or more vitamins. Generally, fat soluble vitamins such as vitamin A, D, E and K are the only vitamins that can cause Hypervitaminosis. Water soluble vitamins for the most part are excreted through urine and cannot cause Hypervitaminosis. The most common types of Hypervitaminosis are due to an excess of vitamin A or vitamin D and do not cause mortality. The best way to prevent Hypervitaminosis is to take the recommended daily allowance of a vitamin.
