Acute Megakaryocytic Leukemia is a rare form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia most commonly found in adults. The blood cells don’t mature and crowd the normal formation and function of other cells. The disease is so rare that there is not much data collected, making it difficult to recognize the biological characteristics and responses to treatment options. Because of the rarity of Acute Megakaryocytic Leukemia, few patients survive past 3 years.
