Submit your event on Hepatic Stem Cell Markers to be featured.
Hepatic stem cells (HSC) are pluripotent cells responsible for liver regeneration. These cells are the elementary form of hepatoblasts. HSC can be found in the ductal plates of fetal livers, and in the Canals of Hering in mature adult livers. As with other stem cells, HSC display Sonic and Indian Hedgehog signaling. Major markers present on the surface of HSCs include EpCAM, E-cadherin, CD133, and CD29.
