Panuveitis is a rare eye disease that causes inflammation of the entire uvea. Symptoms of panuveitis can be short term or long term and include pain in the eyes, blurred or diminished vision, light sensitivity, and redness of the eyes. In most cases of panuveitis, the cause is not known. Some known causes include infections, autoimmune disorders, and diseases such as syphilis, tuberculosis, and sarcoidosis. There is no cure for panuveitis, and if not diagnosed and treated in time, panuveitis can cause blindness.
