Background

Myeloid Differentiation primary response gene 88 (MyD88) contains a cytoplasmic Toll/interleukin 1 receptor (TIR) and functions as an adaptor protein in Toll-like receptor signaling. It is expressed in many adult tissues including heart, kidney and liver tissue and in monocyte, T, B, NK and dendritic cells.
